we suggest that a commitment to Open Government should also include publishing a summary of the topics discussed at councillor briefings, together with records of the attendance of councillors at those briefings.
Example from Mitchell Shire Council
For example, in the agenda for the council meeting on 13th December 2021, Mitchell Shire Council disclosed:
- a summary of the topics discussed at recent councillors briefings, and
- records of the attendance of councillors at those briefings.
This is leadership on Open Government that the City of Yarra can easily follow.
