Streets Alive Yarra is building an online record of broad community support for walking, cycling, public transport and place making. One way that we do this is to have locals stand up as champions for their neighbourhood.
Please welcome our newest champion, Cameron Wirth – our local champion for Burnley Street.
I have been a resident in Richmond on and off for the last decade, having spent time living in Europe. I firmly believe that we can improve our sense of community and belonging by creating an interconnected city which promotes walking, cycling and public transportation. I live and work in the City of Yarra, spending a lot of leisure time with my wife, son and dog in the many parks and streets around my house. I genuinely believe that Melbourne’s inner city is unique in Australia and should be preserved. This means making roads for everyone and not just motorists. I do, however, understand the importance of finding the right balance as I also own a car and use it for various trips.Cameron Wirth
