The state government Department of Transport and Planning is asking for feedback on proposals to ban e-bikes on trains:
Our view
Streets Alive Yarra Inc. supports the view of the Public Transport Users Association, and Bicycle Network, that the state government should not ban e-bikes from trains. The combination of bikes (including e-bikes) and trains is important for mobility across greater Melbourne, especially for people on lower incomes. Instead, the quality and safety of e-bikes should be better managed by improved import regulations and compliance efforts.
