Streets Alive Yarra is building an online record of broad community support for walking, cycling, public transport, trees, and place making. One way that we do this is to have locals stand up as champions for their street or neighbourhood.
Please welcome our newest champion, Mei Yin – our local champion for Lord Street.
The streetscape on Lord Street requires much needed work. The olive trees are struggling to thrive and there is no underplanting. Instead I observe weeds, dog stool and rubbish dumped under the olive trees. I would like to suggest the olive trees be replaced with slimline Crape Myrtle trees and underplanted with Lomandra ‘Tanika’ grasses.
