As Yarra’s population increases by 50% to 2040, our population density will increase, and our local government politics will change to more closely resemble other dense cities, such as New York.

Our view
Yarra’s population density is already high enough for traffic congestion and parking congestion to cause problems for people who need to drive and park, as well as causing problems for people who wish to walk, cycle, or appreciate the beauty of street trees. We don’t have to wait until we have the population density of New York, we can start now to build a more beautiful, liveable and accessible city.
