Yarra Boulevard is an access street that follows the Yarra River. It’s a declared arterial, so is the responsibility of the Department of Transport and Planning, not the City of Yarra.

Two new wombat crossings

In 2022 council installed two raised zebra crossings (also called wombat crossings) on Yarra Boulevard, as a response to safety issues raised in the 2018 Local Area Place Making (LAPM) review of Precinct 19 (Bendigo). The two crossings are located near Melbourne Girls College, and were co-funded by Council and the Transport Accident Commission (under their Local Government Grant).
